Shanghai – Manulife-Sinochem (MSL) is supporting the “2010 Langtian Juneyao rural teachers’ trip” by providing accident insurance to participating teachers. The charity trip is organized by Shanghai Overseas Chinese Foundation and East China Normal University to raise community awareness of the challenging living environment of Chinese rural teachers and students. MSL is delighted to be supporting the project and is donating one years’ group accident insurance with a total sum assured of RMB 200,000 to rural school teachers from Yunnan province
In certain underdeveloped areas in China, schools and teachers work under some challenging conditions, and there is often a lack of books, information and facilities. As a supplement to the usual training program offered to national educational bodies, the “Langtian Juneyao rural teachers’ trip” invites rural teachers from deprived areas to take a 10-day training session in Shanghai. Teachers from Yunnan will have the opportunities to experience urban culture by travelling by airplane and train, living for one day in a Shanghainese household, auditing a primary class lesson, visit the Expo and meeting with university professors.
