Hong Kong– Manulife Financial (stock code: 0945), a Canadian-based leading financial services provider, has announced the appointment of three senior executives in its Asian Division.

Alan Lee has been promoted to Vice President, Regional Operations, Asia, responsible for developing new business initiatives for Manulife's joint venture, Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance Company (MSL), in China. Mr. Lee has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Manulife in 1993 as a member of the Corporate Audit Department of the Asian Division and was later transferred to work in the China Development team for the start-up operations of MSL. In 1999, Mr. Lee took charge of the administration and information technology for Manulife-Vietnam. Mr. Lee returned to the Asia Regional Office in Hong Kong in 2001 to lead the China project that resulted in gaining the Guangzhou and Beijing branch licences of MSL. He is a graduate of the Hong Kong Baptist University and a Chartered Public Accountant.

Vinci Hon has been promoted to Assistant Vice President and Legal Counsel, Asia, responsible for providing corporate and commercial legal support for Manulife’s operations in Asia. Ms Hon joined Manulife in 2002 with the main responsibilities of offering legal advice on product developments, marketing and distribution initiatives, and providing legal support for compliance functions as well as regulatory submissions and reporting matters for Manulife’s key business units. Prior to joining Manulife, Ms Hon was a solicitor at a leading international law firm in Hong Kong and was previously in private practice in Australia. She holds degrees in both commerce and law from Australian universities and is a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong.

Jennifer Tse has been appointed Assistant Vice President and Controller, Asian Investment Office (Hong Kong), responsible for overseeing investment operations and financial reporting in the Hong Kong operation. Ms Tse joined Manulife in 1994 and was transferred to Manulife Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited, the investment and asset-management division of the company, in 2000. She has extensive internal-audit experience in the insurance industry and holds an MBA degree from the University of Ottawa. She is a Certified General Accountant of Canada.
