Web-based illustration and electronic application solutions allow Plan Right Advisors to meet customer demand for Manulife Japan’s innovative universal life products

Edison, NJ and Tokyo – NaviSys, Inc. announced today that Manulife Life Insurance Company (“Manulife Japan”) has processed 250,000 universal life illustrations and more than 51,000 applications since launching NaviSys Front Office™ in July 2003. Manulife Japan’s PlanRight Advisors (sales representatives) are using the solution to propose and apply for ManuFlex and ManuMed products, innovative universal life offerings it introduced to Japan in 2001.

This is the first time NaviSys’ solutions have been used in the Japanese market.

NaviSys Front Office™ illustration is web-based, allowing PlanRight Advisors anytime, anywhere access. Once a customer selects a product, the data from the illustration is automatically uploaded to the application. This accurate data is then passed to Manulife Japan’s existing policy administration system, for a once-and-done approach to customer data collection. Manulife Japan’s underwriters are then able to assess the case and render rapid decisions about coverage and premium.

Mr. Andrews said: “We needed a system that could handle the rapidly growing market demand. Currently, NaviSys’ solution is supporting 700 concurrent users and 3,600 users overall. On peak days, NaviSys Front Office has handled more than 2,400 illustrations and uploaded data to 2,700 applications. We are confident the solution will continue to perform as our usage expands.”
