Hong Kong– Manulife Financial (stock code: 0945), a Canadian-based leading financial services provider, has announced the appointment of one senior executive in its Asian Division. Manulife (International) Limited (MIL), a member of the Manulife Financial group, has also announced the promotion of two senior executives.
Alison Li has been appointed Assistant Vice President and Controller, Asian Investment Office (Hong Kong), overseeing the investment operations and financial reporting in the Hong Kong operation. Ms Li has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, especially in the asset management, fund administration as well as in the system development management areas. Prior to joining Manulife, Ms Li was Assistant Vice President of Information Services at one of the custodian banks in Hong Kong where she supervised the information service team to administer customer and fund operations data requirement and source information to meet customers’ needs. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, an Associate Member of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants and a Member of the Hong Kong Securities Institute.
Leo Ng has been promoted to Assistant Vice President and Product Manager, Wealth Management, MIL, responsible for executing the strategic direction for wealth management insurance products, marketing and promoting the product line as well as growing its assets under management. In 1996, Mr. Ng joined the Risk Management Department of Manulife Financial in Canada and was subsequently transferred to the US Insurance Department, responsible for product pricing. He was relocated to Hong Kong in 1999 to join the Regional Actuarial Services Team and participated in various regional projects. He became a member of the Marketing Actuarial Department in the Hong Kong Operations in 2001 where he was involved in the product development for the Individual Financial Product business. Mr. Ng holds a Bachelor of Mathematics Degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Canadian Institution of Actuaries and the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong.
Daniel Chu has been promoted to District Manager of Daniel Chu's District. His team currently has 133 members and is one of the rapidly expanding agency teams of Manulife Hong Kong. Mr. Chu joined Manulife in 1990 and has repeatedly achieved highest production and growth among his peers. He won the Highest Growth Senior Branch Manager Award in 2002 and 2003, and the Highest Production Senior Branch Manager Award in 2003. He is also a top recruiting manager in 2000, 2002 and 2003. Mr. Chu was also the winner of the National Management Bronze Award and the Career Development Silver Award presented by the General Agents and Managers Association of Hong Kong in 2002 and 2003.
