Hong Kong— At a recent recognition ceremony organised by Manulife (International) Limited, around 150 “Humanity Ambassadors” from the Company were honoured for their unconditional support and selfless contribution to the Hong Kong Red Cross’s (HKRC) Humanity Campaign. The territory-wide campaign was designed to cultivate a positive sentiment in society and encourage the local community to respect life, protect dignity and bring hope to others in their everyday lives. Manulife is the principal sponsor.

Manulife backed the campaign by promoting and participating in a series of tie-in activities, such as the “Humanity Wristband Charity Sale” and the annual corporate blood drive. In May, no fewer than 580 staff and insurance and financial advisors from Manulife turned up to donate blood to help save lives. Then from May to July, more than 40 insurance and financial advisors volunteered to join hands with a group from HKRC to spend long hours under the sun selling “Humanity” wristbands outside various MTR and KCR stations and shopping malls, to raise funds for this worthy campaign. In the coming months, Manulife will also organise and host training sessions for HKRC volunteers to help enhance their selling techniques.

Dr. C.K. Lin, Hospital Chief Executive, Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service, was also present at the ceremony to award the “Humanity Ambassadors” of Manulife with Certificates of Appreciation.
