Company announces major sales and marketing thrust of unit-linked products

Medan – PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia Medan Branch today hosted a “Customer Appreciation Gathering” in Medan to thank customers for their long-term loyalty to Manulife Indonesia. Attended by 450 Manulife Indonesia policyholders, the event served as a forum to express gratitude as well as share the latest company news.

“Customers are our most important asset,” said David Beynon, Manulife Indonesia President Director, at the press conference that followed the customer gathering. “Our top priority is to provide service excellence to our near one million customers across this country. As such, our efforts in this area were generously rewarded earlier this year when Manulife Indonesia received the ‘Call Center Award 2006 – Service Excellence’ award by the Center for Customer Service & Loyalty (CCSL) & Marketing magazine.”

Mr. Beynon was joined by Nelly Husnayati (EVP & Chief Agency Officer) and Penny Djatnika (VP Agency-North Star Territory) at the press conference.

Unit-linked products offer customers numerous long-term investment options
Manulife Indonesia also announced today its plans to launch a strong sales drive of its unit-linked product portfolio, citing market potential in Medan as the reason for the thrust. Unit-linked products have both life insurance and investment elements

“Sales of unit-linked products in Indonesia are experiencing a strong upward trend and we plan to capitalize on this momentum in Medan, a market we see as ripe with potential for this type of product,” said Mr. Beynon. “Unit-linked products offer our customers life insurance coverage with the added advantage of an investment vehicle to make their hard-earned money work for them.”

Manulife Indonesia’s Max Link product rounds out the Company’s investment-link portfolio for customers in Medan. The Max Link product enables investors to enjoy the benefits of long-term investing in equity markets, with the added bonus of an insurance component.

“Manulife’s Max Link was developed for customers to build investment portfolios that generate optimal investment returns with a risk level of their choosing,” said Ms. Husnayati.
