Hong Kong, December 31, 2006 Manulife Hong Kong employees presented with distinguished customer service awards Two nominees from Manulife Hong Kong, Jenny Chan, Quality Assurance Officer from the Customer Call Centre, and Alex Ng, Senior Underwriter from the Individual Financial Products Underwriting Department were selected to compete in the 10th annual Distinguished Customer Service Award (DCSA) event. Chan won the “Customer Service Award of Credit” and Ng was awarded the “Distinguished Customer Service Award.”

Toronto, October 24, 2006 Manulife Tops Globe & Mail Governance Rankings Manulife Financial finished first in the Globe and Mail’s annual ranking of corporate governance in Canada. Manulife received 36 out of a possible 37 points for board composition, 23 out of 25 for board compensation practices, 27 out of 28 for shareholder rights, and 10 out of 10 for disclosure practices. Manulife’s total of 96 was two points higher than the second place position.

Boston, February 21, 2006 National Quality Review’s Best–In–Class John Hancock Signature Services was awarded Best–In–Class honors for telephone customer service in the fourth quarter of 2005 by National Quality Review (NQR). According to NQR, the Best–In–Class service rating recognizes top–performing companies in a variety of areas including telephone customer service, transaction processing, shareholder correspondence and literature fulfillment. The firm attaining the highest quality rating in a particular service area achieves NQR’s Best–In–Class service rating.
Hong Kong, February 14, 2006 MFC Global Investment Management Fund Performance Awards North American and Japanese equity funds managed by MFC Global Investment Management won a total of three prizes in Hong Kong for performance through the end of 2005. The MPF North American Fund won the Lipper MPF Fund Award for 3–Year North American Equity. And for the second consecutive year, the MGF Japanese Growth Fund took two prizes for best 10–year performance among its peers – the South China Morning Post Fund Award for 10–Year Japanese Equity and the Lipper Fund Award for 10–Year Japanese Equity.

The survey asked leading Canadian CEOs to name the corporations they most respect in eight categories: Best Long-Term Investment Value, Innovation and Product/Service Development, Human Resources Management, Financial Performance, Corporate Social Responsibility, High Quality Service Product, Corporate Governance, and Customer Service. Manulife ranked 41st in 2001, 18th in 2002, 15th in 2003 and 6th in 2004.
